Paleokastritsa, known as Paleo to visitors, is probably one of the most picturesque and photographed resorts
on the whole Corfu island. Virtually untouched by the tourist trade, Paleokastritsa's landscape has taken over and it has a very peaceful, relaxed atmosphere to it. All roads along this side of the coastline stop at the end of the resort, giving it a real sense of arrival. Many of the hotels apartments and accommodation are set so far back from the main road that they are a taxi ride from the main street of cosy bars, shops and restaurants. Paleokastritsa was once a small fishing village and the small amount of growth the village has seen has not taken this traditional element away.

Paleokastritsa has a series of small bay beaches scattered along the coastline, with many requiring steep steps down to get to the secluded areas. The harbour and beaches at Alipo Bay are home to organised boat trips and the crystal water in this area provides an excellent environment for scuba diving. ituated on the northwest coast of Corfu and surrounded by green lush countryside you will find this popular resort , considered one of the most scenic spots in Corfu Paleokastritsa has a spectacular location on the foothills of wooded mountainsides overlooking a quiet unspoiled bay. Despite having been a holiday destination for over 30 years it still has a great deal of charm and Greek character. The long road which leads down to the small beach is dotted with small hotels, tavernas and bars.

There are three small bays to explore and some nice walks on the wooded hillsides. The scenery here is exceptional, this is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful parts of the island of Corfu. Paleokastritsa is ideal for those who want a quiet relaxed holiday and nightlife is fairly subdued, but there are plenty of tavernas and bars scattered throughout the resort, and even a couple of small discos.
