GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT BARBATI / CORFU
The lure of Barbati coastal village is the best beach on the coast. With its long wide stretch of sand away from
the main road, it boasts postcard views with bright clear waters. Nearly all the local amenities are situated 100m
up the main road and is on higher land away from Barbati beach. There are several beach cafes and restaurants on the coastline for those not wanting to make the walk to the row of restaurants and shops up the road. Barbati
is very popular for families wishing a beautiful but inexpensive break away. There is much accommodation here, and with the development of a small hotel complex behind the main beach, it looks set to be as competitive as ever. Nightlife is fairly low key for those wishing to dance the night away, as the family atmosphere dominates this town, but there are regular connections to the busier towns should you be wishing a more lively night out!

BARBATI TRAVEL INFORMATION
Barbati is found as you head north from Corfu town, the scenery here is dramatically different from the south
of the CORFU
island. Barbati is close to the popular Corfu resort of Ipsos, the road from the resort winds its way upwards on the lower slopes of Mount Pantokrator and drops down through the olive groves to Barbati.
The resort is spread out along the coastal road, on one side are the spectacular mountain slopes and on the other olive groves and the long white shingle beach, lapped by turquoise waters. BARBATI beach is cooled each day by a welcome mountain breeze. The sheltered warm waters of Barbati bay are wonderful for swimmers of all ages, a variety of water sports are available including windsurfing, waterskiing, pedaloes, dinghy sailing and for the more adventurous parascending. Barbati is quiet in nature for those wanting a beach holiday and relaxing nights. |
